Connections Overview

What is Connectivity

An API (or Application Programming Interface) connectivity is like a bridge that allows different software programs or systems to talk to each other and share information or perform tasks, making it easier for them to work together.

In travel experiences industry, the primary use case for connectivity is to connect the reseller and supplier systems, allowing them to "sync" information about product availability, pricing, bookings, redemptions, etc., which would otherwise be quite a manual and resource-demanding process.

Ventrata is proud to offer our clients one of the largest and top-quality ecosystem of API connections in the industry. This includes Reseller Connections, which allow resellers selling your products (e.g. OTAs, marketplaces, resellers using other ticketing/reservations systems) connect to your Ventrata system for real-time availability, pricing, bookings, etc.; Operator Connections for your to act as a reseller of suppliers using various systems in a similar way, and more. We're constantly adding new connections too.

Our API connections are direct and follow an open OCTO standard designed collaboratively by various industry players. This means you we don't rely on an external "API middleman" / "channel manager" systems and connecting with Ventrata is simple, quick and easy for your partners.

Developing a New Connection

Missing a connection? We're open to working with your partners on helping them develop a connection with Ventrata.

Detailed information on how to develop Reseller Connection with Ventrata can be found at https://docs.ventrata.com/ (Ventrata's implementation of OCTO API standard).

For an Operator Connection with Ventrata, your operator's system needs to develop an OCTO standard compliant API for resellers. More information about OCTO standard and development tools can be found at https://docs.octo.travel/.

Our Connectivity Team (connectivity@ventrata.com) will provide development and testing support to partners.
