Go City Reseller Connection

About Go City

Go City is a sightseeing pass provider that offers discounted admission to popular attractions, tours, and activities in over 30 cities around the world.

Connection Capabilities

Go City supports:
Validation. When Go City pass is scanned by Ventrata hardware (point of sale, kiosk, app, etc.) or pass # is entered into "Manage my booking" page, Ventrata will check pass validity with Go City before creating a booking for mapped product. For bookings made for future dates/times, Ventrata will continuously check that related pass is still valid every 60 minutes and automatically cancel bookings if pass becomes invalid (cancelled by Go City, all eligible attractions used, etc.)
Booking. If pass is valid, Ventrata will create a booking with the Go City Reseller Voucher transaction.
Redemption. Ventrata will automatically communicate pass redemption (usage) to Go City at time of the cancellation cut off for the product, or when booking is marked as redeemed in Ventrata (if this happens before cancellation cut off).

Setting up the Connection

You must have a supplier account with Go City before setting up the connection. Visit https://gocity.com/en-us/attractions-and-activity-providers to learn more and inquire about setting up the account.

Create Go City Reseller in Ventrata. If you haven't yet, create Go City as a Reseller and configure it's settings (band, commission, products, etc.).
Obtain API Credentials from Go City. Reach out to your Go City account manager and request production API username and password for Ventrata. These must be for the production environment and not testing/UAT environment.
Create a Connection in Ventrata. In your Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections > Connections, then click + New Connection and select Go City from the list of available options. Set the connection Name, link the Reseller created in Step 1, enter API username and password received from Go City and click Create Connection. If necessary, you may also whitelist/blacklist destinations or products you wish this connection to have access to. Leave "GoCity Redeem on Redemption" box checked for automatic redemptions (usage) calls to Go City at time if cancellations cut off. Proceed to product mapping as described in the section below.

Mapping Products

Map products in Ventrata Connection. In your Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections > Connections, then select your Go City connection from the list of created connections (see section above). The connection page will load the list of products/units pulled from your Go City account. Rows highlighted in red indicate Go City products that need to be mapped to a product in Ventrata. To map, click on the row, then select Ventrata Product (and, if applicable__Option__) and Unit you wish this Go City product to be booking when pass is scanned, and click Update Mapping.
