Pickups

Pickups is the section of Ventrata where you can add pickup routes to tours. Ventrata has a pickup engine that will automatically give the client a location for pickup and assign it to a dispatch for your drivers (given a hotel pickup). It’s basic components are hotels and pickups and these form a route.

The sections under Pickups are:

Dispatches

Pickups

In this subsection you can see an overview of all of your pickups with the following information:

Name
Address - shows address of the pickup
Radius - in which the system offers a choice of the three next closest pickup points
Latitude - for google, to give exact directions how to get to the pickup point
Longitude - for google, to give exact directions how to get to the pickup point
Duplicate - the system looks at similar names or similar addresses and suggests duplicates to avoid reentering the same data twice

Pickup is simply an address with a name added to it. For creating a new pickup, press + New Pickup button and set:

Name - the name of the pickup you want
Zone - a tag for a pickup
Address - the address of the pickup
Directions - extra information for the pickup site
Exact match - when there is no radius used (an exact point)
Pickup Radius (miles) - in which the system offers a choice of the next three closest pickup points
Notes

You need to allow Hotel Search and / or Address Search in a product details.

Then the following options will be provided to customer on a web checkout:

We have replaced the hotel list with a Google auto-complete according to the Google Place ID.

The system finds the closest pickup point to the chosen hotel or address.

If there isn't one within a one-mile radius (this can be configured), it offers a choice of the next three closest pickup points. So regardless of the route assigned to the tour, and regardless of the chosen hotel, the system will always try to find the most convenient pickup for the customer.

Each pickup needs an address (or latitude / longitude) and Google will give directions on how to get from their chosen hotel to the nearest pickup and make recommendations (walk, taxi, train, etc) as Google Maps does already.
